However, I think it could bear being raised again. CHICKEN OUT! CAMPAIGN CHALLENGES GOVERNMENT’S PROPOSED LAW Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Compassion in World Farming takes the Chicken Out! campaign straight to the UK Government calling for the welfare of chickens to be taken seriously through UK law. Despite soaring sales of higher welfare chicken and major shifts in retailer policies, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is planning to lower UK standards and effectively give the green light to further intensification of chicken farming.
