Suzy
Hi all, am sitting in my garden watching the hens scrabble around in their run and DH has just cut the grass. He suggested putting the cuttings in their tyre in the run for them to scrabble about in. His logic is they would eat the grass if they were able to so it woudl do them no harm, but I am sure I've heard it's not a good thing.... Can anyone help? Thanks, Suzy
Egluntyne
As long as the clippings are quite short, a handful or two won't harm. I give them to my girls as a treat. Long grass or massive amounts of clippings are the the causes of trouble.
Suzy
Thanks for the super quick response Egluntine - we've just put some in now and there are three tails sticking out of their tyre and three very happy hens!
