No eggs since my Brahma went broody

Recommended Posts

I've had two partridge brahma's and a crested legbar since March. all three were laying when I bought them, but one brahma went broody for about three weeks and the other seemed to stop laying at the same time, even though she didn't go broody. now neither of the brahma's have layed an egg in two months. the broody one did have lice which I treated and seem to have gone. I can't understand why neither of them are laying, they seem happy enough and I can't find any nests in the bushes?

They could be what I call "semi-broody". My cochins are like it every summer.

My 2 go broody on and off for months, it could be that your brahmas are not yet ready to lay because they will go broody again any time soon.

Have you wormed them recently? If not, a course of flubenvet might get them going again.
