4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi all,

 

we've had our 3 girls two weeks now - 2 Blubelles at 15 weeks & a RIR at 12 weeks. One of the Bluebelle's chest is looking, well, rather bigger than the rest these last couple of days. Ive felt her crop and to be honest as im new to this have no idea whether its normal size or not. Ive massaged it and given her some Olive Oil just in case. She's eating and drinking fine.

 

How can you tell if a crop is normal or not?

Before you start worrying....check it first thing in the morning...if it has emptied then there is no cause for concern. Some are greedier than others and have a more obvious lop sided bulge.

One of my girls went crazy just before coming into lay and ate loads, making her crop look lots bigger. Eglutine's put some good advice on this thread, don't worry about things too much and see how she is tomorrow!

thanks very much for your advice, i checked er this morning and her crop had emptied thank goodness! think im just worrying to much as im new to all this!
