Hi

My campbells never took off as they got too fat! & had an easy life being fed(they were free ranging all day on pond etc and fields etc) Someone else may tell you to clip , as I never had the problem. If they are just swooping low and cant make good height wouldnt worry too much but it depends what your set up is.

I remember thinking the same but never had too..they are still quite a heavy bird and once they fill out hopefully too heavy to make it up in the air!

If you think they are going to make it over a hedge etc perhaps clip them..good luck indie

Hi Dave.

My I have 2 Aylesburys that are 18 weeks old. My garden is terraced and despite being told that they wouldn't be able to climb up steps they have already mastered the bottom set!! However, they haven't mastered getting back down and launch themselves off the wall and flap their wings frantically!!. They are very large birds given their age and I don't think they would ever get enough height to get over the 6' fences. I was told that I wouldn't need to get their wings clipped but I think that is due to their size. Campbells are a bit smaller I think and not as heavy.

Good luck!

Rachel
