The place that sells lots of different breeds are Thornes near Hitchin Tel 01462 675767 if you are after specific type(ring before you go, a tad expensive but they do have a good selection of fancy breeds bantams etc as well as the hybrids) another suggestion getting a practical poultry magazine as local breeders do advertise. There is a couple in Wareside ?? that I know do advertise I think they were Gardner?? but I will have a look later. I cant remember what types they have.

 

I live just up the road from you near Buntingford and did travel over to Bedford to pick mine up and paid £10 for speckledy £10 Bluebelle £10 for plymouth rock x rhode island and columbines were £15 local breeder.

 

Hopefully someone who is more knowledgeable will be able to help. We are not too far Essex/Cambridgeshire etc so probably depends how far you want to travel too. I think there is a bantam place up near cambridge

 

As you can tell I have no idea what a cochin is!!

Wernlas do Cochins, they are in Shropshire but do deliver via a careful professional courier, that way you wouldnt have to go anywhere!

I made a six hour round journey for my cochins as there was "Ooops, word censored!"ody close to me.

 

 

have a look at the various breeders and see if you can combine chickens with a day out. You won't regret it...cochins are barmy. Mine haven't got two brain cells to rub together. Hubby says that when God was giving out the brains, they forgot where the queue was.
