My Dorking cross has gone broody. She's been in the nest box all afternoon and has growled and gone for me when I've tried to collect the eggs shes sat on.

 

I've no broody cage but can get some fertile eggs off a friend who would also keep or deal with the cockerels. Decisions, decisions.

Well, she's gathered 4 eggs laid today so we've decided to get eggs off my friend. She's now in the rabbit hutch in the WIR and has been out for food and water.

 

Is advice on feeding a broody in the hatching section?

She's got welsummer eggs, welsummer x cb maran eggs and wyandotte x white leggies so I think I'll go for some of each

One of our two Buff Orp's went broody the weekend before last, nothing we did would snap her out of it, so she is now sat on six Light Sussex eggs. So far she's being a model Mummy Hen
