I'd noticed over the last couple of weeks that Chris Packham was slipping a Morrissey quote or two into his presenting. Tonight he used two in as many minutes! Is he doing it for a bet, do you think, or is he just a huge fan and they are slipping out unconsciously?

He was on the radio the other day and the presenter asked him about it.

 

I think it's a bit of a game with him, he described it as 'slipping in a few post-punk lyrics here and there...'

I've even got OH watching Springwatch as a spotting exercise as he's been a huge Morrissey/Smiths fan for years and is more familiar with the quotes.

 

I loved the one when he made Kate Humble corpse hysterically. Chris is obviously giving her nearly as much trouble as Bill did.

I wasn't sure when I heard that Chris was taking over from Bill but the combination really works. I once met Chris and he seemed really nice - and very knowledgeable!!
