Aga n Chickens
Hello It's ages since I did Chemistry at School, but I remember that limescale that deposits in baths can be disolved away with a mild acid. I'm trying to find a way of making my own bathroom cleaner recipe and stay away from the supermarket sprays as I'd imagine a home made version would be safer and cost less. Would Lemon Juice or Vinegar be strong enough ? If I need something stronger can anyone tell me what would be safe to use on a plastic bath and also safe on the chrome taps ? Kind regards, Christine
KateG
Vinegar will do the trick. I soak an old cloth (or cotton wool) in vinegar and then drape it over the area - if it is around taps I put a plastic bag over too, to keep the vinegar in contact for as long as possible. Take it off after 24 hours and it is usually all gone - definately easy peasy with no scrubbing involved.
Aga n Chickens
Many thanks Kate Our taps are so close to the tiles at the back of the bath, this method will allow me to give that area a good soak overnight and get it squeaky clean.
