She was hatched around October last year, & has never yet laid an egg

She seems ok, & potters around the garden quite happily.

 

Petra the Polish who shares the eglu with her is about the same age & has been laying for a couple of months now, lovely white eggs about one every other day.

If she bloomin' feels like it! And not before! That's my general experience with home-hatched pure breeds anyway. And then will continue to lay as and when she sees fit, but not if you or anyone actually NEEDS any eggs, only if everyone else has already laid and you're awash with the bloomin' things!

Pure breeds can be quite old by comparison to hybrids so if you're absolutely sure it 's a girl not a boy then really (in my humble opinion) it'll be a wait and see thing.
