leopardstar
Our chicks that we put under our pekin were due to hatch at the weekend but still no sign. I'm really hoping this isn't bad news, on monday when I picked the eggs up I could feel the chicks wriggling around but today I can't feel that. So today is day 25 from when I put them under her but they were cold when I put them under as they're not her eggs, would it have taken them a few days to get up to temperature and start developing? Egluntyne
You are supposed to rest the eggs for 24 housr before placing them under a broody, and they are unlikely to do much if over a week old before setting. TBH if you are at day 25, it is probably a lost cause, but I'd risk leaving them another couple of days. She may abandon them in a day or two anyway.
