4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Well - the title says it all really.

 

Came home after work yesterday, the girls were free ranging but Rofl was all hunched up under the table - head to the floor, tail to the sky. I tempted her out with some melon seeds, she gave a half hearted peck at them but then gave up. I suspected it was a softie as her tail feathers seemed to be moving in rythym like contractions. OH agreed so we brought her inside, popped her in the poorly box with a hot water bottle, straw and a mug of water. She seemed to settle but her eyes kept closing and her beak was open. She stayed like this for a couple of hours then stood up and did a poo - it had a yellow aftter-dribble which I took to be yolk.

At bedtime we put her into the Eglu and prepared for the morning.

This morning came and three happy healthy girls in their run! Took the lid off the eglu and sure enough, one softie complete with yolk that had run right from the back of the droppings tray to the front by the door - delightful!

I was absolutely dreading our first softie but after reading on here what to look out for and tips on what to do, I didn't panic and feel confident we did the right thing, so thanks Forum Posters!
