simon_blackwell1
Hoorah, came down this morning to two very red faced chickens (I was out last night so didn;t see them before they went to bed) and two eggs in the coop. They've both started laying, hoorah! As a treat I let them do a bit of free ranging while I ate my breakfast and got ready for work. I got a shout froom my wife who was getting dressed in the bedroom (which overlooks the run) that a pigeon had got intot he run and was pecking around. Now depsite my love of chickens and most thing avian, I hate pigeons so I grabbed a stick and headed out the door only to see Onion - the newly laying ninja chicken fluff up her feathers, spread her wings and mount a full scale charge on the pigeon. Cue one terrified pigeon hightailing it out of the run with a distinct bald patch on it's neck and one smug looking chicken with a mouthful of feathers. I was impressed! Olly
They don't take prisoners ... although see the post in this forum about 'a new arrival', it just depends on their mood I think!
