My (cube lilac) with 1m extension is due to be delivered on Wednesday. It will be sited on soil with hardwood chips in the run.

Once the cube is installed the skirt will be pegged down and weighted down with boulders to (hopefully) prevent any uninvited visitors.

What is the best way to prepare the earth as a foundation for the cube?

I have recently dug it over and trodden it down, just wondering if there are any other tricks that I could use.

Is it worth digging in some garden lime and/or stalosan?

(Mind you I am sure that however I go about preparing it, the hens will have other ideas of their own!) :wall:
