fluffyknickers Posted June 30, 2009 Share Posted June 30, 2009 (edited) Hi all, Was all plain sailing for a while with the hens and then got a broody one and she stopped laying for a bit and then yesterday morning collected eggs and only got two eggs and then last night when went to shut the door I found this thing on the floor that looked like an egg but its 'casing' was almost see through. Picked it up and it was still in tack but the 'shell' was soft a bit like a water baloon! We opened it and inside was a totally normal egg with yolk. Does this mean she is running low of something? I have chucked some grit in the run. Also i am wondering if it is the same chicken that yesterday when I was in the garden i HEARD and SAW do a poo that was ejected from her bottom area and was like water and splatted on the ground. So I need to give them something extra? Should they be wormed again (were wormed a few months ago not long after I got them)? Thank you for your wonderful help as usual.
