Just Wondering... Ours are due any time now Very excited....

 

I called them 2 weeks ago as we were off last week and thought it'd be a good time for them to arrive. I thought 2 weeks notice would be a good thing, But apparently they dont have any say in when the couriers bring them!!!

 

So we are not sure when they are arriving. I know they do this ALL the time so are very experienced, but if you are not in they leave them in the garden in a cool spot - I am hoping they will not be fox food by the time I get in from work

 

So has anybody used their service? Need reassurance

Well the courier must pick the hens up from them and have the instructions to deliver in a time critical manner so they could maybe call you when the hens leave?

 

I can't imagine Wernlas using anything else than a very professional carrier experienced in live bird transfer so would not think that they would be left out for you and guess once the courier have the birds they will contact you to arrange drop off and Wernlas could probably confirm at least that for you

 

Its getting exciting, not long now, it seems like you have been waiting for these girls forever

I know, it's just frustrating. The nice lady said they will call me the day before but I as I work they would just leave them boxed!!! I am hoping they are in a crate as am very worried about foxes........

 

I could ask them to leave them in the shed!

When mine were delivered from Wernlas, they were in large fairly robust but not fox-proof cardboard boxes. I think that it might be a good idea to ask that your boxes be left in the shed.

Thanks, that's good to know. My OH did speak to them yesterday and we will leave the shed open and the instructions will be to leave them in there until I get in. I am home by 2pm so hopefully they wont be waiting too long

 

He thought it would be at least another 2 weeks tho as apparently the chook postie wont be down this way before then... but he will call us the day before
