jman2007
Hi all After 16 months of owning my Eglu I have now ordered a Cube which will be delivered on the 27th July. I am going to get 2 more girls and wanted to find out how people have introduced new chickens using a cube and Eglu? any tips would be great. Also I am thinking of selling the Eglu once I have used it to introduce the new girls, what do you think, will I regret selling it? Thanks Jonty
Chook n Boo Mum
Personally I would put the original girls into the cube & use the eglu as an intro home for the newbies. I kept (I also have and ) to use for sick bay/naughty "step"/intros and a holiday home for visitors & sold the ! Mind you I'm always on the lookout for more brightly coloured house as I seem to have developed a bit of an obsession.................... ! koo2cat
Do NOT sell your eglu! We started off with a cube and took delivery of an eglu today to have as a spare for intros, sick hens, broody hens etc. You will regret selling it and you can always hire out the eglu to other omleteers when you are not using it!! Falkor
Sha (Wild Mum) has said exactly what I am going to say Move your existing girls into the after then have gone to be as normal in their . This way they will wake up in their shiny new and hopefully think they have always lived there. It took my Orps three nights of being moved into the before they got it and went to bed in the by themselves (see previous posts re my Orps being a bit thick). Once they are coming and going happily into their you can get your newbies! Use the as newbies intro home. I followed the intros thread in FAQs and integrated two POL hybrids to two 6m Orps no problems and not a peck or feather pull in sight! Took 5 weeks. I am on my second lot of intros and things not goinf quite so smoothly but it is the newbies picking on eachother rather than the old girls being pains! Oh and yes...... DO NOT sell your if you don`t have to. I said I was going to sell mine but not and now have and
