laurmurf
I'm fed up with the chick drinkers constantly clogging up no matter what i do. We're going away this week and even though I've got a chook sitter, the blasted things need cleanly constantly. So then, how old do you think the chicks need to be before it's safe for them to use a glug and will have the sense to learn how to use a superglug? Redwing
As the Glug is so deep I didnt use one for my chicks as they were very bouncy and I was worried they would drown I have used a grub for water from about 2 weeks in, put it very low and they were fine, it has the added advantage of being more difficult for them to poo in or land in (notice I didnt say impossible ) I also used rabbit water bottles for the last ones in preparation for them beginning to use a super glug (as again its so deep and they are flighty!) and they got the hang of it in an hour or so (I squeezed it a bit to let the water drop at first so they cottoned on) You can get rabbit water bottles with a nipple dispenser (like a super glug) too but I used the normal ones
laurmurf
thanks Tasha, I'll try a grub and a rabbit drinker (how frustrating that Egluntine offered me one when i borrowed her rablu and I didn't think I'd need it ) I'm awfully worried about going away and leaving the chicks for a week; particularly the ponyos 'cause they'll only be two weeks old.
