My 3 Orpingtons are now 14 weeks old,what age to they have to be to start feeding them Omlet Organic food,they are at present eating Organic growers pellets.

It's best to keep them on growers until about 16 weeks of age and then slowly merge the foods so they end up entirely on layers pellets. Although for Orps, you might need to feed them on growers for a bit longer than that as they are a big breed and take longer to mature.

They should go on to layers pellets at about 16 weeks. If they reach that age and you still have some growers left, mix it in with the layers till it has gone as it is a shame to waste it.

I just thought that I would add that I order my Omega-3 Organic Layers Pellets direct from the company. As I live in Cambridge and the Organic Feed Company is in Norfolk fewer road miles are involved. Also, they deliver very promptly (couple of days at most) and in four 5k bags instead of one heavy 20k bag. Good customer service as well. Had two ripped bags delivered and they credited me for two bags in my next order.

 

The large outer plastic sack is perfect for sliding the poo from the poo tray into as it's sturdy enough to stand open without support. The individual pellet bags are great for kitchen peelings, etc., for the green bin.

 

Perhaps if there is an interest, especially from those who live near to or north, south or west of Oxford, Omlet will add the 4 x 5k bag option to its shop. I should add that I have never had anything less than great customer service from Omlet!

 

I cannot say this about Wiggly Wigglers however multiple problems and ignored complaints!
