AJH101
My Gingernut Ranger has just stared laying. The first couple of whites have been rather watery, even though the eggs have been only a couple of days old. I wonder if this will right itself or is this an issue I should be addressing now? Thanks.
AJH101
I had the wrong end of the stick! I thought thick yolks were fresh not old. I should have known - you cannot make meringue from fresh eggs! lol
chickencam
Some hens lay eggs with more watery whites than others and the whites tend to become moew watery as the chickens get old too. One of my Pepperpots has always laid quite large eggs with watery whites, they are very tasty but take careful cooking and can't be poached.
