4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

One of our girls laid an egg today which was covered in a white speckled, dry, rough covering - it almost looks like someone's sprayed it with a fine covering of white paint. I'm not sure who laid it but it's not normal for any of our girls.

 

Should I be concerned about this and does it mean there's a problem?

i get one like that now and again. there the eggs the supermarkets dump

its just extra calcium or lack of 'paint' you might get the odd one that's not 'painted' right to the end or has not got quite enougth shell on the end

Yesterday I got one from Rhonda my best layer, she seems fine and is her usual self so I would say its perfectly okay. I thought the egg was really pretty and did a small egg dance

Fern, lays some of those occasionally, and we still eat them, + they're still delicious....
