iwannachicken
I have just been to give the chooks a little treat , and as i was feeding them i noticed little bugs in the corn feed!!Urgh. I have had a lookat the whole container(i put it in a plasic container that you get your wild bird fat balls in) and they are all in the food, so checked the metal bin that i keep the rest in and there seems to be some in there as well. What are these creepy crawlies? I assume the chicks have probably eaten a few so will they be harmful? Knowing that chickens will pretty much anything bug like,i don't like the idea if it being in the food. Should i bin the corn? Sorry for all the questions.
sjp
they could be weevils if the corn was for human consumption then yes it would have to be throw away or burned. if you've got alot of corn then they'll multiply rapidly
