Lesley
I'm sure it's an instinctive thing and she won't need her mother to show her how to fly.She will do all the usual duck things. Battery hens have never known a mother or seen the outside but as soon as they are rescued they do all the normal chickeny things. Have you got a book on rearing ducks? - could you borrow one from the library if not? There will be a lot of information which should help. You could also check on the Practical Poultry forum. Guest
You will defintely know if it will fly as it will flap madly like a nervous flap but not for a few weeks yet. Doesnt need a mum to teach it instinct will kick in. Good luck indie
