un bon oeuf
Keeping chickens again! When I was a kid my mother kept loads of Rhode Island Reds in the Belgian Congo (hawks sometimes got the chicks) then when we were in teens and early twenties my brother and I ran "The Brown Egg Company" in the UK in our back garden where we ended up with a flock of over 60 hens (until decimated by a fox). Now keeping chickens again! Wonderful! The eglu arrived last Tuesday and on Wednesday the hens were installed. Athaliah (crested legbar cross) laid a blue egg the first day and has laid every day since! Delilah (white hybrid) had one or two attempts with soft shells but produced a good white egg yesterday and is laying again as I speak! Jezebel (light sussex hybrid and leader of the pack) loooks quite young so we'll have to wait. Geraldine (Warren) should join in soon too.
