Globe Artichokes?

Cut all the pointed ends off the leaves, use scissors, and rinse the artichokes well - ours always have ants!

 

Boil in salted water until the leaves come away when pulled gently - drain well.

 

Serve with something to dip the leaves in - mayonnaise or melted butter are our favourites.

 

Pull each leaf off and dip the fleshy end in the mayo. Eat the fleshy part and discard the rest of the leaf.

 

You will eventually come to a fluffy bit - the choke........s"Ooops, word censored!"e it all away as it is inedible.

You will be left with the artichoke heart - the best bit - a round disc shape.

 

I used to work in a French restaurant - it was amazing how many people left the heart :shock: - and I did used to eat them before s"Ooops, word censored!"ing the plates :oops:
