Nige97
I know rhubarb leaves are poisonous to some extent for human beans but how about chooks? If it is poisonous to them will they eat rhubarb leaves if they are available or do they have enough sense not to eat them? Just a question of whether or not I try and keep them out od the rhubarb patch Many thanks, Nige
Minnie&Moose
Our 2 original hens (Minnie & Moose) stripped our rhubarb of all its leaves last year! Minnie & Moose are still with us but as for the rhubarb If our experience is anything to go by, you may need to protect your rhubarb from your hens rather than the other way round
Nige97
Thanks Minnie&Moose, that puts my mind somewhat at ease. So now I have to protect the rhubarb I might just leave it and see if they take a shine to it, I seem to be thinking that way about quite a bit of the garden. I really want them to free range over as much of the garden as possible. I have fenced the veg patch but I dont want to fence any more than I really have to Nige
