I've got someone checking on them on the days I'm not there to top up food and water, but what about opening and closing the door? Can I really just leave it open? katieD Posted August 17, 2009 Share Posted August 17, 2009 yes- just leave it open. i leave mine open all the time over summer as its light so early so they are up around 5am! personal choice i suppose- but they will be fine with the door open. nothing else to worry about as far as i can think although i always leave my relatives a tub of meal worms to throw in near the house to eat while they are getting the glug/grub in and out- as they arent too confident with chickens and it helps prevent escapes! hope your going somewhere nice!
