When I got them I got told that they did not need worming and not to do it anyhow until they have settled down. We got two of the girls from Omlet - does anyone know if they will have been wormed before they came to us? I am assuming not.... We have had them about a month now, so is that about the right time to think about worming them? They are all just getting over a cold, so would it be best to wait until they are completely better? Chicken Licken Posted August 17, 2009 Share Posted August 17, 2009 You can worm them now. Flubenvet is a 7 day course and is designed to be mixed in with pellets or layers mash. You can get it from the vet or online and it is more effective than verm- x. I think how much they free range depends on how oftne you should worm them. I work on a once every 3 months as mine are free ranging nearly all the time (having said that Primrose had worms just 1 month after being wormed last ). Good luck with it. I didn't think to worm my Omlet girls for 10 months, it just didn't cross my mind, but when I did do it they really needed it and my drop in egg production stopped. So now I do it every 3/4 months routinely.
