Guinea pig / run / night time

Recommended Posts

:D It probably depends on location, both nationally & where in the garden. My Guinlu is on slabs next to the kitchen door, so I feel it is safe from predators overnight.

In the summer, I leave my door open and they are absolutely fine. However, the positioning is such that the morning sun isn't shining in at dawn, and it is sheltered from the wind & rain.

I do have the Eglu in a very sheltered position by the house, & I'm in S.East, and in the winter I do push the door to, so they are warm, but not locked, so they can push it open & come out for breakfast.

When it was particularly stormy/freezing (or fireworks), I did lock the door but opened it at 7am.

My hens are semi self sufficient about bedtimes & mornings, so it suits me to do this with the guineas too & they're very happy, but it's personal choce. Good luck, and welcome to the forum. :D
