bexbex
hello all Hope you're enjoying the lovely sunshine this morning! We're going on our holidays tomorrow for 4 nights and I'm leaving the chickens under the care of my dad who will open them in the morning, close them at night and feed etc. Wendy yesterday decided as I was cleaning them out to go broody... I got a good telling off for emptying the nesting area out and giving it all a good clean. I didn't get any eggs off the other 2 girls yesterday and wendy laid an egg which I quickly removed. Today we're going out so they will be kept in the run and when we're away they won't be ablel to come out either... I'm a little worried that wendy might not let the other 2 into the nest to lay their eggs.. she's in there now and I can see Martha and Delia poking their heads round as is to say "come on we're busting!!" Do you think they'll be ok? I'm only going till Thursday and my dad is good with animals so I know they'll be well looked after. Wendy came out briefly for a little food this morning but was only about 5 minutes...can I expect this for the next 3 weeks now? Why do they have to choose before you go somewhere to do these things! haha Becki x
Egluntyne
Can you put her in a dog crate in the run? That should sort her out. Your Dad won't have to do much with her. Kate's excellent article from the FAQ section **here**
