4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

we have 4 hens and one of them has become a bit ill we think. shes taken to sitting on her own in the coop with her eys shut... and doesnt really get up for food, but wanders over-very slowly-to the water trough. shes moving very slowly and her neck isnt extended at all... the other hens seem completely fine and we change their water daily. so we dont know what it can be. theyre quite common hens, no particular breed i think, just bought from an egg farm when they were not wanted anymore. she was only £2.50 so we doubt shes a quality bird, but we want her to get better, do we need to take her to the vets??? thanks for any help, jess

Has she been wormed?

 

Have you checked her over for signs of lice and her housing for signs of redmite?

 

How does her crop seem. Full? Soft? Hard? Like a balloon full of water?

will check tonight for signs of lice etc... she has stopped laying so cant check eggs. all 4 hens are going through a moult-does that make a difference? this hen is the only one looking ...peaky...

A moult can make them a bit under the weather-ish.

 

If they haven't been wormed.....then that would be the first thing I wold do.

 

I'd also recommend Flubenvet as opposed to the herbal wormers which don't work in my experience.
