1 of my hens has really black poop I'm really worried bout it, any ideas? It seems to be all the time & for a good few days now, if i didn't know better i'd swear 1 of them had been taking iron tablets

 

I'm obsessed by chicken poop just now, so sorry for all the posts about chicken poop but without this forum i'd be totally lost

I am no chicken expert but my chicken poos change colour all the time and consistency,, sometimes they are black/white and then runny green(I use to think they had diarrhoea)!

 

I imagine as long as it has normal behaviour eating drinking and pecking around etc

probably nothing to worry about. As I learnt yesterday just make sure it has a clean vent/feathers.

Hiya, thanks for your replies............OMG i seem to be getting ma knickers in a knot over these 2

 

They have been just eating the usual, layers pellets, grass, grit/oyster shell & mixed corn oh & bugs so nothing unusual that i can think of & their kept in my garden at all times so they haven't sneaked out anywhere

 

Think i'm just gonna take a chill pill & relax about it all coz i'm sure i'll notice if anything serious is up.
