clucky chicken
Hi - after the first excitement of getting my gorgeous chickens - I waited in anticipation for the first eggs.... when I got them just over a week and a half ago, the breeder said they were 20 weeks and they would start laying imminently - but a friend who also has chickens said they look like they are only about 16 weeks! - how can I tell how old they really are, and wether they will they actually lay any eggs this year? - Considering the summer is coming to an end and I understand that they stop laying in the winter......... any advice would be appreciated..... Thanks!
Space Chick
Can you post pictures, people might be able to give an indication of age then. Also, are your hens pure breeds or hybrids? Most Pure breeds stop laying in the winter, but most hybrids continue to lay.
