dippy bird
Hi Guys, we have 3 girls at the moment and are looking at getting a couple more. At the moment we have a: sussex - Betty sweetie - Judy ranger - Margaret They are all great girls and each have their own character -Judy being the cheekiest!! She just loves to come onto the decking in the evening if we are having a glass(Or 2) of wine, and join us by jumping up onto the table and pinching any nibbles that we may have!! Now - the question is - what kind of chickens do we go for that will get on well with our girls? I don't really think there is much of a pecking order with them, apart from the fact that Margaret is the smallest and seems to trail behind the other two.None of them fight or peck each other. So, what do you think?
Egluntyne
Any breed really, but please be ware that the equilibrium will be upset by any new arrivals, and inevitably there will be squabbling......often from the one you least expect. Space Chick
I would say make sure you have temporary separate accommodation and get them at POL so they are similar in size to your existing girls, but as for breed get what you like, I don't think chickens really view getting on with each other by breed
dippy bird
will be keeping them seperate for a while as I have ordered a new bigger coop for them,so will keep the new girls in the old coop. Just wondered if there were any with similar natures, good layers, but a bit different to look at?
