Eggstatic!
I was wondering if any of you treat the wood that your walk in runs are made from and if so do you use something specific; is there something that is animal friendly?
Old Speckled Hen
Mine is made with tanalised timber so needs no treatment. If yours is a diy one made with untreated wood I should think an ordinary wood preservative should be OK. I would do it on a dry day when the chooks can be out all day. Not many of those left this year

Cooks
all our wood is treated with preservative, infact it was drenched in the stuff, prior to building, then about a year later we took it all down to lay a concrete base and whilst it was down we painted it with a coloured sadolins wood paint/treatment. It made it look much better I have to admit.
