Flump & Snarf

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

We have just brought home two lovely bunnies which we have named Flump and Snarf.

They're currently in an indoor hutch but I would like to save up for a rablu and move them outside.

When do you all think we should do this? I could probably afford to buy it in about three months but will it be too cold for them then? Would we be better to wait for the spring?

You're thoughts would be much appreciated.

Hi there :)

Congratulations on your new bunnies....

Personally, I would wait till spring to move them out, or basically wait for the weather to be mild enough to not give them a shock when they get re-located. In three months' time, it will be winter and it might not be safe to move them from a warm indoors place to a cold garden with the worst of the winter still to come... even on a mild week, you might find the weather taking a sudden turn to cold and the bunnies might not be prepared for this after a few months inside. If you do it in spring, they will then have time to gradually acclimatise to the colder weather as autumn comes in later in the year...

Have great fun with them :)

Thanks for the advice. I think you're definitely right. They're so tiny at the moment I don't think they would cope with the cold.

In case you all want to see some photos of the little ones, here's a link:

One other question, Flump did have a very slight damp patch round her nose this morning. She had probably just been guzzling some water but do you think I should worry? I don't want to take any risks but not sure if I'm being a worrier!

B :think::)
