claracluck11
Hi there, I have two girls, Peggy and Sue, and was wanting to give them the odd treat. I imagine eating the same ole pellets every day can't be very exciting for them. I've heard you can feed potatoes but not really sure how. Do they have to be cooked, like mash, or do they eat it raw? And also the peelings, can they eat those and if so do they need to be cooked? Not really sure how much or how often. I imagine a small handful once a week is ok. Thanks for any advice you can give. Egluntyne
You can.....so long as it is cooked. Same with potato peelings. Raw potato contains a toxin harmful to hens, but it is rendered harmless on cooking.
