KateB
I've just been a complete wombat - I've made some banana ice cream as I'm totally obsessed with my new ice cream maker... although I might take it back... since I've had it my jeans are getting tighter so I think it must be caused by the machine and there's something wrong with it.... Anyway, what I was going to say was that I forgot to heat the cream first - I have no idea why - I put three bananas and some condensed milk in the liquidiser and then added the cream straight from the fridge! Will it still be ok to use? I'm assuming I just have to eat it quicker but OH will complain if I make him poorly...
Alison M
Hi KateB I'd blame the washing machine.
Mrs Frugal
I don't know Kate. I have made ice cream just by whipping cream and adding sugar syrup and it worked OK and we lived to tell the tale so it probably will be OK. Hope you don't end up with runny bums now ! Romany
Don't you use eggs in your ice cream The biggest incentive for me in getting my chickens was to satisfy my need for eggs for all the ice cream I make! If any of you have a particular favourite I can write you out a recipe.
Mel (& Paul)
My dad makes the BEST gin and tonic sorbet (no eggs) - oh and not much tonic either
Mrs Frugal
I usually do use eggs in my ice cream and it's lovely. The recipe I was talking about for Kate was Delia's and she didn't heat the cream before she made the ice cream. Eggs in ice cream make it so much creamier. There are some great recipe sites out there for ice creams and sorbets - http://spaghettiicecream.com/icecream-and-gelato-recipes.html http://www.sendicecream.com/ind.html
