swanseachick
My 25 week chook has been poorly for the last 2 days. She became very lethargic, stopped eating and had a nasty paste-like yellow discharge around her vent which we have been washing off as best we can.Today she is moving around much better and has started eating again but the horrible discharge remains. We continue to wash her tail end and are applying sudocrem more as a precautionary measure as so far she doesn't look sore. We can see no evidence of worms or mites, but are novices to this so have limited knowledge of what to look for. Does anyone know what the problem may be and any suggestions to speed her recovery? Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Egluntyne
I think I'd try worming her with Flubenvet first of all. Available online and no egg withdrawal ( if she is laying). I'd also keep her diet limited to layers pellets, water, a little probiotic yoghurt and some bokashi bran (if you have some to hand) for a few days.
