andy9196
Hi guys haven't been on here for a bit, as everything has been going well with the girls. Last couple of morning I have been to collect the eggs, and 1 appears to have been pecked at and eaten. How do I stop this and how do I find out which one is doing it ?? Many thanks
Ain't Nobody Here
You want to stop them doing that right now . They'll get a real taste for it and it's really hard to break the habit. I had 3 egg eaters and didn't get any eggs for quite a few weeks before I worked it out . Are the eggs hard? If they're soft or fragile they're more likely to have a go at eating them. Limestone flour and cod liver oil is a good way to get more calcium into them. I bought a couple of pot eggs and also smeared a broken egg shell with mustard to put them off. I think I've got them to kick the habit . A roll away nestbox is also an option (I didn't need one in the end).
