xScrunchee
Lynsey is not too hot at replying to emails I'm afraid I'm pretty sure that you haven't offended her-some of my emails have taken her weeks to reply to and some have never been replied to Maybe give her a ring?? I know that her PC had a problem with the fan recently-maybe something else is wrong with it. Let me know how you get on
Clarabelle
Jay, thanks so much for recommending Lynsey - she is lovely. We had a really nice time over there this afternoon, my son and his friend played with Connor on his trampoline whilst I chatted to Lynsey and Alan about the chooks. I went for the white Leghorn and the gold Silkie in the end and they are both lovely. The Leghorn is called Eve and the Silkie is called Henrietta. Eve loves a cuddle, she is so tame and she has already laid us an egg, albeit a pretty small one. Ate it for dinner though and it was lovely Pictures here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=146125&id=576498199&l=bcc825107b I was very tempted by a gorgeous lemon sablepoot, but was a bit worried that she might be bullied by my Pepperpot. Their sablepoot cockerel was adorable. I put them all in the garden together and they have been remarkably amicable. Clarabel has had a few goes at the silkie in particular, but I don't think it will be long before they all know where they stand. For now they are sleeping separately though. Thanks again
xScrunchee
Aaah, they are lovely looking girls I thought you'd like her. She's very friendly and makes you feel really welcome I'm so happy that you decided to go for it in the end and I'm sure that you will have no regrets They are more friendly than Omlet hens aren't they? I think it's because they are used to being around people. Feel sooo happy for you
Clarabelle
I guess they are so friendly because they were hand reared and are used to human company. I nearly went for a rehabilitated ex-bat rather then the Leghorn, but I'm glad I didn't now. Eve is just gorgeous, I can see myself getting really attached to her. I really hope they are all ok in the morning and there isn't too much fighting tomorrow.
xScrunchee
She didn't have the Leghorn when I was there (luckily for you or else I may have been tempted myself ) I was going to go for the silkies but ended up with a Sumatra (tiny white hen), one that turned out to be a Shamo cross (which we are not 100% sure of the sex ) and Kev the pekin cockerel No regrets though-just worried about Tallulahs gender at the mo Am keeping my fingers crossed that she is indeed a she!! If Tallulah ends up being a cockerel I don't really want to send her back to Lynseys in case she throws her in with her other cockerels as she has a bit of a 'chuck them in and let them get on with it' approach and I love Tallulah and would hate for something to happen to her/him
