ally
Hello, im new to the forum & would like some advice please, i have 4 27 day old isa browns, at the moment i have them in the lounge in a large indoor guinea pig cage with a heat lamp just on in the evenings now, (they do spend plenty of time running round the lounge - much to my husbands amazement lol) for the last 2 days they have spent a few hours each day in the garden in a secure run - we do have a large coop to use when the time is right for them - but need to know when the right time is please ?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated please
Redwing
I have some a week or so older than yours and mine will go out at about 7 weeks ish as they arent feathering up that great they could go out from about 6 weeks at this time of year.If they look raggedy and are missing a lot of their teen feathering then let them out but bring them in at night for a week or so to allow them to feather up more There is a fine line to tread though as you want them out and 'hardened off' by the first really cold weather When you put them outside permenantly its worth banking some bedding up around the inside of the coop to make a 'dip' that they can sleep in as the house is so big, that should make them snug and keep the draughts out Congratulations on your chicks and welcome to the forum
