Dog hair/wee/poo as deterent to fox

Recommended Posts

Well that really is an amazing tip. Thankyou very much WarrensWorld. We, (probably my loved one) will try it. We have three dogs who are always bounding about during the day, but obviously not at night and Mr Fox certainly leaves his trail. We have actually seen two foxes at 10.30 in the morning in a neighbouring field.

No, I think you're right. Our "Beakery" has a 2.5 metre high fence around it plus nearly half a metre at right angles onto/into the ground outside. We normally shut everyone up at night too, but for the time being the chickens are awaiting their new home.

During the day, if we are here and the dogs are out in the garden, then we have another fenced off area where everyone can free range, but that is not fox proof, but easily seen from the house. That is where the wee could be very helpful maybe. In the past we had a lot more poultry and ducks and more acreage. They free ranged all day until night time, but we also had Alpacas, and they kept the foxes away. Sadly, when we moved to France we had to leave the Alpacas. Infact, we left all the livestock for the people who bought our house. We had intended just having the dogs and cats here, but, well, you know what it's like, once a sucker always a sucker :D:D
