Can anyone help. I am collecting my 4 month old chicks next saturday. Obviously they won'y be laying just yet, but can you tell me when I should start offering them grit or if

Yes, they will need chick grit.

 

Usually available at agricultural shops or via ebay.

When do i change it to normal grit? I presume chich grit is smaller?

yes chck grit is diddy, you need so little that ebay is a good place to get it as they do small amounts, budgie grit from the pet shop is much the same thing

 

I move mine on to growers grit at 6 weeks then normal grit at 12 weeks or you can just go straight to normal grit at about 8 to 10 weeks but make sure it doesnt have seashells in it until they reach 22 weeks or so as the extra calcium isnt good for them when they are young
