After spending all weekend getting the coup site prepared, building it,customising it and admiring it, it think we are ready for our first chooks. I was going to get them from where I work as we have a fair old collection of everything from rabbits, ducks, geese and chickens, all the way through to ostriches, wallabies and reindeer. However, the chooks are a bit of a mixed bag and not exactly what I'm after. As the chooks are going to be resident in our front garden, we thought that we'd start with 4 and see how we get on. They will mainly be for ornamental purposes but we would also like some eggs from them. Initially, we thought about getting a couple of Silkies and 2 others and taking it from there. Located centrally in the Scottish Borders, I would love to hear from anyone who might have chickens/chicks for sale or know of anyone who could help us out. We are willing to travel to collect, within reason. The chooks will be sharing the garden with Orio, our Male 1 yr old Lionhead Rabbit.
