rightlass
Continuing from post of last week.... in which I said my hen wasnt right after laying a very big egg. See below for that post viewtopic.php?t=52921 She is now acting normally, eating well etc.... but I have been able to feel an egg for 7 days now. When I examined her internally, the egg is just sat there waiting to come out, I can touch the tip of it and you can see the shape of it but it feels like there is a membrane/piece of skin covering the opening.... so the egg cant come out... like something is blocking it. Have tried the advice given for egg binding..all to no avail. There is no visible prolapse just this membrane. Is it an internal prolapse caused by the big egg a week ago. She isnt in any discomfort or distress and is acting normally, eating, drinking and pooing ok too.
Egluntyne
I wouldn't tinker about too much inside her. What you are feeling might not be an egg, but another internal structure. TBH if she had been egg bound for this length of time, she would probably be in real difficulties by now. If she is eating, drinking and bimbling about, there is probably not much amiss. If you remain concerned though, it might be best to take her to a vet for a looks see.
