beverley Posted October 10, 2009 Share Posted October 10, 2009 Hi i've been finding feathers in the garden and run, i presume the hens are in there first moult. its been like this for a couple of weeks now and one hen is definitely laying less eggs. but they don't look like they are losing feathers, i thought they would lose loads and look really scruffy. how long does a moult last for? thanks for any advice beverley Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It can last a couple of weeks, then there i s phase when nothing much seems to be happening at all. Next thing, you will notice white quills appearing.
