Touching up eglu and cube run

Recommended Posts

Hi our Eglu and Cube runs have a couple of rusty spots that I'm considering touching up before the rust gets too bad. Has anybody done this before? Any recommendations about type/shade of paint? I have been to B&Q about this, but suddenly one green of metal+primer paint looks very much like the other...

I should add that the problem is worse than the usual wear and tear. The previous owners of our Eglu cut its skirt, which is now starting to look rather sad. Also, my girls have managed to break off  some of the mesh in one of the Cube run side panels by jumping onto a perch that was attached to it. (The break is not serious enough to let mr. Fox in, but I would like to prevent rust if possible.)

I guess if you wanted to go all out then hammerite undercoat and top coat are needed

Palmer07 recently cut her run and used model paint to touch up the cut edges, you can get model paint for metal figures that would probably protect the run more than it is now, the model paiint is good as it comes in small pots
