jlo
I posted a while back about my freeloading Bluebelle. Brief history. Got her in April. She didn't start laying until start of July and then stopped at the end of July. We had nothing for about six or seven weeks. She stopped crouching and I thought that she was prematurely menopausal. About a month ago she started crouching and then laid again about three weeks ago.(not sure of the actual dates as I don't keep records ) For the last week we have not had an egg and she has stopped crouching again. Has anyone else had any experience like this. We love her dearly and don't just have her for her eggs but it would be nice to know that she isn't totally useless!!! Chicken Shirl
Hello, sorry to hear that one of your hens is not laying for you. I can't be of much help I'm afraid. One of my girls layed almost every day for a year and then she was ill and hasn't layed since. That was a year ago, she eats well and looks great. My cockerel is not interested in her at all though.... I hope someone with more experience will come along and shed a bit of light on it for you. She could be poorly
jlo
She doesn't seem poorly. She is eating and drinking and scratching. they are wormed regularly. Ho hum - just have to think about getting some new layers soon!
