Sam Palmer
Does anyone know whether it's worth me buying flea drops for cats via the internet? I've seen them on sites when I've been looking at Flubenvet for the chickens, but I don't know really how it compares to the vets. It's just that I'm taking our new kitten to the vets tomorrow for her vaccinations and I need flea drops for our other cat and if it's significantly cheaper online, I'll get them elsewhere. Joojoo
I bought a 6 pack of Frontline from www.petmeds.co.uk this time last year for £14.71 so definitely worth buying on the net. They are a very reputable company and I've not noticed any problems with the cats having this rather than from vets. Hope that helps. Chucky Mama
Any UK company selling veterinary medicines will be selling things exactly the same as the vets. Online medicines are sources from the same suppliers as those that supply vets. Anyone in the UK selling should be registered with the VMD (Veterinary Medicines Directorate) and should say this in their 'About Us' along with their registration number. Never buy Frontline off eBay as anyone selling is doing so illegally and it could well be coming in from the Far East. Bear in mind that you can get Fronline without prescription online but not Frontline Combo. They are different in that Combo inhibits the hatching of eggs within the house which standard Frontline does not (that is the only difference). Some vets are quite competative with online seller, others are not.
chickencam
I would be a little wary. If your cat has been treated with this product before then probably ok....but.... My cat Scamp was treated with this when she had her annual boosters earlier this year and she had a severe reaction to it whic made her tear her fur out behind her neck. Because she had been treated at the vets, the vet was able to ring the company and fill in the adverse reaction forms and get Scamp's treatment paid for and a full refund on the frontline for us. This may be more tricky if you administer it yourself and have bought it online.
